Android Q may let users squeeze their Pixel smartphones in future to open rival assistants

Recently Samsung came into the news for its Galaxy S10 smartphone that came with the ability to remap the dedicated Bixby button to trigger a new app. The feature recently trickled down to Galaxy S9 smartphones as well. Now, Google is trying to do the same with its Android Q OS version. Although the feature is not yet official, XDA Developers found out that the OS version may let users trigger not only different apps but rival assistants as well, especially in its own Google Pixel smartphones.
Until now, the Pixel smartphones’ Active Edge feature only fired up Google Assistant. With Android Q things might take a different turn. The website found a ‘hidden property’ in the first beta release of Android Q that came out last week. The ‘hidden property’ is said to let users fire third-party assistants when the handset is squeezed.
