Your poor voice, data peeves prod DoT into action mode

MUMBAI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is concerned at the high levels of congestion in telecom networks, which is leading to poor quality of both voice and data services. The issue is now likely to be discussed at next week’s meeting of DoT’s top panel, the Digital Communications Commission (DCC), which may discuss possible steps that need to be taken to improve the situation for subscribers, a senior official said.

“Word has come to the DoT from higher authorities on the poor quality of calls and network congestion. It may be on the agenda in the next meeting of Digital Communications Commission (DCC)” said the official of the telecom department, asking not to be named.
