Vodafone Idea inks deal to offer ZEE5 content

NEW DELHI: Vodafone IdeaNSE -1.08 % Ltd (VIL) and Zee Entertainment EnterprisesNSE 0.99 % Ltd (ZEEL) have entered into a tie up for the latter’s over-the-top (OTT) platform ZEE5, in a bid to raise content play to take on rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti AirtelNSE 1.56 %. Under the partnership, the content portfolio of ZEE5 will be available to Vodafone Idea customers on Vodafone Play as well as Idea movies and TV app, the Mumbai-based telco said in a statement Monday.

The telecom market leader said its customers of Vodafone Idea can now access the entire content catalogue of ZEE5 via multiple devices. The content of ZEE5 can be accessed through Vodafone Play or Idea movies and TV app. The ZEE5 content is available across 12 languages; English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Punjabi.
