Trai asks for views on use of terahertz band

Mumbai: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has asked for stakeholder views on permitting license-exempt operations in the Terahertz band (frequencies above 95 GHz).

It has sought industry opinion on the need to open the frequency spectrum between 95 GHz to 3 THz for experiment and demonstration of equipment designed to operate on any frequency above 95 GHz through a separate experimental license, and if such devices can be taken to market.
