TikTok-Microsoft deal must not involve India user data: Think-tank

New Delhi: With Microsoft confirming its intent to buy TikTok in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, India should ensure that any possible deal between the two companies did not include data of Indian users, a New Delhi-based think-tank said on Monday.

TikTok, owned by Chinese unicorn ByteDance, is facing a probe in India after the app was banned in the country in June over national security concerns.
