Social media has to be user-first, not platform-first: Koo slams Twitter’s new policy on competitors
Social media has to put users above platform, Indian microblogging platform Koo said after Twitter rescinded its new policy banning people from promoting their accounts with competitors.
“No social platform has such rules. The truth is that millions of users are looking for Twitter alternatives. And this includes prominent personalities around the world who have left or want to leave it. They deserve to know about alternatives. You can’t talk about free speech on one hand and then implement policies that impediment it,” Mayank Bidawatka, cofounder, Koo, told ET.
