Pegasus is no different from bombing in Hiroshima: Sanjay Raut

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday raised questions about the financing for the use of Pegasus spyware on Indian targets, and declared that the surveillance software which was being used to snoop on hundreds of people, including opposition politicians, journalists, bureaucrats, civil society activists, and others, heralded the “death of freedom”.

Raut, in a column in Saamana, said that NSO, the Israeli company that owns the Pegasus, claimed it provides software only to the government of a country. “If it is considered as truth, then which government in India purchased software?” he asked.
