Nokia says completed first 5G SA call China Unicom’s live network
NEW DELHI: Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia said it has completed its first 55 SA call on a live network in partnership with China Unicom.
Nokia said it plans to achieve full deployment of software solutions with the operator ahead of the schedule.
Nokia has deployed 5G SA core for China Unicom by bypassing non-standalone (NSA) 5G core deployments entirely and enable crucial network functions, such as network slicing capabilities.
Nokia deployed its Unified Data Management, Shared Data Layer, and Cloud Mobile Gateway for the 5G Session Management Function and User Plane Function, complemented by Data Refinery charging and NetAct network management. All the products have been deployed in the cloud using the Nokia CloudBand cloud infrastructure and management solution.
