Instagram expands badges in live videos for creators in more countries
Instagram is expanding support for badges in more countries. Instagram started testing badges in live videos with select creators earlier this year. Fans can buy badges in Instagram live videos to extend support to creators.
Instagram announced it is rolling out badges to more countries but didn’t specify which markets exactly. It first started testing the feature in the US, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Mexico. Badges appear at the bottom of the comments in live videos. There will be an option to buy a badge to support the creator.
Instagram offers three badges starting at $.99 for one heart, $1.99 for two hearts and $4.99 for three hearts. Instagram lets you purchase only one badge per live broadcast. Payment for the badges are made through the App Store and Google Play Store.
