India’s smart TV mkt to fall 7% in 2023, may bounce back to normalcy next year: Counterpoint

NEW DELHI: Smart TV shipments declined 5% year-over-year in India in H1 2023 owing to the prevailing inflation and other headwinds in the country, which forced people to restrict their purchases to essential items, according to the latest data released by Counterpoint Research on Tuesday.

The research firm expects an increase in smart TV shipments in H2 2023 compared to H1 2023, due to the festive season. Nevertheless, the smart TV market is expected to decline by 7% year-over-year in 2023, and may return to normalcy next year with a growth of around 10% year-over-year.
