Huawei 5G: India should take a level-playing approach, says telecom group
NEW DELHI: The Indian government should adopt a parity while taking a decision on Chinese gear maker Huawei’s fifth-generation or 5G network, and undertake equipment testing suitably so that the outcome could fetch evidence, the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) said.
“There should be a level-playing field in approach and the safety criteria should not be based on as if you are from a particular country,” COAI director general Rajan S Mathews told ETTelecom and added that the security doesn’t work merely on trust.
