Google says VPNs are important and why users should use one

VPNs have been a bone of contention between service providers and the Indian government. In other countries, however, VPN services remain popular and in demand. When Google launched the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones in October 2022, it offered VPN services free of cost. Called VPN One, the service is now available for all Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users. Google has also explained in a blog post why VPNs are important. Here’s what the tech giant has to say on VPNs and why users should explore them:

In a blog post, Ane Fabo Aranzabal, senior product manager, privacy & security says that a VPN — or Virtual Private Network — gives users the peace of mind that their connection is private and secure. “It works like a privacy cloak, adding a layer of encryption to your internet activity that shields it from eavesdropping hackers and network operators (which can include your internet service provider, carrier or public Wifi provider),” says Aranzabal.
