Google announces new tools to boost online learning

NEW DELHI: Google has kick-started its ‘Anywhere school 2020 event’. As part of the same, the company has introduced over 50 Classroom and Meet features. The remote learning updates aim to help students and teachers.
The company has announced that the 49 meeting participants’ view which Google announced in June will arrive next month in Google Meet. So, from September, Google Meet users will be able to see all the 49 participants on the screen at the same time. Google also said that it will incorporate its digital whiteboard called Jamboard in Google Meet in September. Along with this, Google Meet will also get the ability to replace or blur the background in Meet.
Apart from this starting October, the G Suite Enterprise for education customers will create breakout rooms in Google Meet. This means that they will be able to divide the classes into small groups for virtual discussions. In October only, the teachers will also be able to keep track of the attendance in Meet meetings.
