Global smartphone mkt showing recovery signs after decline of 8-11% in 2Q23: Trackers

NEW DELHI: The global smartphone market is showing signs of recovery with smartphone inventory levels (sell-in vs sell-through) reaching healthy levels over the past months, market trackers said Tuesday.

Counterpoint Research reported that the global smartphone market sell-through fell for the eighth consecutive quarter at 8% year-over-year and 5% quarter-over-quarter in Q2 2023. Canalys separately reported that the global smartphone market fell by 11% year-over-year in Q2 2023 as gloomy demand started to impact market leaders like Samsung and Apple which had to reduce their sell-in the same quarter.
