Foxconn founder Terry Gou announces actress Tammy Lai as running mate in Taiwan’s presidential race
Terry Gou, the founder of tech giant Foxconn, has revealed his running mate for the upcoming presidential election in Taiwan. Gou, who declared his candidacy as an independent candidate last month, introduced Tammy Lai, a well-known actress renowned for her role in a prominent Netflix drama series.
Despite months of speculation surrounding his potential candidacy, Gou has faced challenges in gaining significant support in opinion polls. He currently trails behind the favored candidate, William Lai of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), who serves as Taiwan’s vice president.
