Foreign cyberattacks figure big in NIC officers training
The first national-level training programme for senior officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) took up the recent cyberattack on Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the 2021 Mumbai power outages involving entities linked to China and 2022 ransomware attack on Oil India Limited (OIL) with an aim to strengthen government servers and thwart attacks from enemy countries and cyber hackers.
NIC provides technology-driven solutions to central and state governments, having data centres with nationwide ICT infrastructure, to support e-governance services and various initiatives of digital India.
The training programme was held at the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar under the Union home ministry.
