Fired Google recruiter pens LinkedIn post, asks for help: ‘Heartbroken, devastated’
Alphabet, Google’s parent firm, has announced massive layoffs within its worldwide recruiting division. Hundreds of employees have been left looking for new employment as a result of this shift, prompting many of them to post their stories and seek help on LinkedIn.
Alphabet’s decision to downsize its workforce marks the first instance of a “Big Tech” company taking such a step this quarter. This move follows similar actions by industry giants like Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon earlier in 2023, as a weakened economy brought an end to their pandemic-driven hiring sprees.
