Consumer commission orders cell phone co to refund Rs 91k to buyer for selling defective phone, compensation of 15k
New Delhi: A district consumer commission here has ordered a mobile phone company to refund Rs 91,000 to a buyer for selling him a “defective phone”, besides a compensation of Rs 15,000 including the litigation cost. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (East Delhi) was hearing a complaint, according to which, the device developed certain technical problems within two months of the purchase.
The phone, purchased for Rs 91,000 in July 2018, was then sent for repairs to an authorised service provider in Preet Vihar, the complaint said.
