Apple, Google join hands to help fight coronavirus

These are unprecedented times in which we have seen people and organisations take unprecedented measures. Rivals Apple and Google are coming together in an unprecedented move to combat the coronavirus pandemic. According to a post on Apple’s newsroom, the two companies announced a joint effort to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus. At the heart of this effort is Bluetooth technology and user privacy and security remain a critical part.
“Apple and Google will be launching a comprehensive solution that includes application programming interfaces (APIs) and operating system-level technology to assist in enabling contact tracing,” said Apple in the post.
How the two companies plan to fight the pandemic
The idea is to bring together developers, governments and public health providers and use technology to slow the spread of Covid-19.
