AGR fallout leads to uncertainty in telecom sector: ICRA

NEW DELHI: Credit rating agency ICRA Thursday said that there was considerable uncertainty in the sector following the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) plea related to elongation of payment period to 20 years pendency in the top court.

“The telecom industry is facing considerable uncertainty owing to the adjusted gross revenues (AGR) related dues that are required to be paid as per the Supreme Court (SC) order,” the firm in a statement said.

The Mumbai-based agency said that was a considerable degree of uncertainty on the timelines and funding of payments on account of statutory-AGR related dues.
