PVR reduces snacks prices after tweet of exorbitant popcorn bill goes viral, offers ‘bottomless popcorn’

Responding to widespread criticism regarding the exorbitant prices of snacks at its multiplexes, cinema chain PVR Cinemas has announced the introduction of two offers on snacks and drinks, claiming it is an “unbeatable price”. The announcement comes after a journalist highlighted the bill of an average-sized popcorn and Pepsi at a PVR cinema hall. In an attempt to address the issue, PVR said it has introduced two offers.

The controversy began earlier this month, when a journalist shared a photo of his bill from PVR Noida, showcasing the exorbitant prices he paid for a regular-sized tub of cheese popcorn and a same-sized Pepsi. In his social media post, he highlighted how the cost of these snacks was nearly equivalent to an annual subscription of Amazon Prime, expressing concern over the affordability of movie outings with family.
