AIIMS to be first 5G enabled institution of the country
NEW DELHI: To enable maximum utilisation of modern communication technology for patient care, teaching, and research, AIIMS has decided to make its campus 5G-enabled by June 30. It will be the first institution in the country to be 5G enabled, said officials, adding that a five-member committee has been constituted to expedite the process.
In an office memorandum, issued by the director Prof M Srinivas, stated that— “to enable maximum utilisation of modern communication technology for patient care, teaching, research, good governance and for optimal deployment of integrated medical university information system (IMUIS) it is desirable that the entire campus has good strength of 5G mobile network to enable a robust mobile and data connectivity inside the buildings.”
