BharOS is reportedly compatible with Pixel smartphones

NEW DELHI: As part of India’s numerous attempts to create a native mobile operating system, a group of young people have succeeded in creating an Indian version of the OS. BharOS, an Android operating system based on the Linux kernel from an IIT-incubated startup, is being hailed as India’s answer to Android and iOS. BharOS is reportedly compatible with Pixel smartphones even though it is still in the testing phase.

BharOS was created by Jand K Operations Limited, a company that IIT Madras incubated. It is similar to Google’s Android, but the main distinction is that it does not come pre-loaded with any apps.
