‘CDR scam’: Delhi police arrest Surat cop
An assistant head constable of Surat police and his aide were arrested by the Delhi police for their alleged involvement in supplying unauthorized Call Data Records (CDR). Assistant head constable Vipul Ranchodbhai Koradia of Kapodara police station was suspended Friday evening following the arrest.
Police said he was part of an alleged gang that hacked the email id and password of Surat Zone 2 Deputy Commissioner to get CDR from telecom companies.
The incident came to light after the Delhi police recently busted a racket that sold CDR and arrested Pawan Kumar (22), a resident of Palam village in southwest Delhi, who runs ‘Venus’ detective agency. The accused was arrested after the police laid a trap.
