Power Grid Corporation signs agreement with Himachal Electricity Board for telecom network
New Delhi: State-run Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on Wednesday said it has signed an agreement with Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board for utilisation of 500 km of optical ground wire (OPGW) telecom network.
This is in addition to the existing 350 km of OPGW laid on HPSEBL Extra High Voltage lines already being used in the state to boost its connectivity, an official statement said.
This total 850 km long telecom network will enable Power Grid Telecom to reach remote areas of Kangra, Una, Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Sirmour, Palampur, Sundernagar, Banikhet, Amb, Paonta Sahib, Nahan etc.
