Dial 112 cops to use regional dialects also

In a novel initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, probably the first of its kind in the country, the police personnel will also converse in regional dilects on the 112 Police Help Line for the convenience of the rural population of the state.

As part of this scheme, it has been decided to include Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Braj, Bundeli and other local dialects in the Dial 112 service system.

This decision has been taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Giving details about the initiative, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said that the officers receiving the calls will also be communicating in the local dialect and to ensure this, the officers fluent in these dialects had been selected.
