Amazon India sets $5 b export target from Global Selling Programme

After achieving $1 billion cumulative sales in its Global Selling Programme (GSP) in four years, Amazon India has set a $5 billion target to meet by 2023.

“Amazon India’s GSP, launched in 2015, is driven by more than 50,000 Indian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs),” said Amit Agarwal, Senior Vice-president and Country Head, Amazon India.

The company through its GSP on various portals such as Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk has been selling several ‘Made in India’ products and has over 140 million customers globally. It has disclosed that there was a 56 per cent jump in the the number of global sellers from India in 2018.

“Amazon GSP is an initiative that enables MSMEs to reach global customers, empowering them with tools and technology and leveraging Amazon infrastructure in destination countries,” said Gopal Pillai, Vice-President, Seller Services, Amazon India.
