‘Made in India’ chipsets unveiled by Signalchip
Bengaluru-based semiconductor manufacturing company Signalchip on Wednesday launched “India’s first indigenous” semiconductor chips here, which could be used in 4G/LTE and 5G NR Modem applications.
The company unveiled four chips designed by it — SCBM3412, which is a single chip 4G/LTE modem with the baseband and transceiver sections in a single device; SCBM3404, a single chip 4×4 LTE baseband modem; SCRF3402, a 2×2 transceiver for LTE — and SCRF4502, a 2×2 transceiver for 5G NR standards. Speaking at the launch, Telecom Secretary Aruna Sundararajan said that the launch of the chips was significant and that India is entering an elite club and this will have huge implications on the country’s data security and sovereignty.
