WTO

In a meeting of the Members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) held in December 2015 at Nairobi, 53 WTO Members decided to eliminate import duties on 201 high‐tech products by 2019, progressively beginning July 2016. Products covered by the Information Technology Products Expansion (ITA Expansion) include: new generation multi‐component integrated circuits (MCOs), touch screens, GPS navigation equipment, portable interactive electronic education devices, video game consoles, and medical equipment, such as magnetic resonance imaging products and ultra‐sonic scanning apparatus.
