WhatsApp’s ‘upcoming’ Forwarded messages plans to take on fake news

In its continued bid to stop fake news from spreading, Facebook-owned social networking platform WhatsApp will soon be rolling out two new features for forwarded messages that will tell how frequently that p articular message has been forwarded.

According to WABetaInfo, the online platform that tracks all the upcoming features in WhatsApp, the instant messaging service will soon be rolling out two new features called ‘Forwarding Info’ and ‘Frequently Forwarded’. The forwarding Info will be available in the ‘Message Info’ section. Here, users will be able to see how many times a message has been forwarded. As per WABetaInfo, this information will be able available only for sent messages as users “because the user can navigate into Message Info only for messages he sent.” Due to this, if you want to see how many times a message has been forwarded, you will have to forward the same and go back to Message Info.
