Voters can seek info through free SMS service

To facilitate the electors, Election Commission of India (ECI) has started short message services (SMS) and ‘Voter Helpline’ for Lok Sabha polls 2019.

As per free service provided, the elector through his mobile phone can send SMS to number 1950 and seek information registered on electoral roll.

The information provided will have constituency number, polling centre number, elector part/serial number and also the booth level officer mobile number. This can help elector to resolve the problems related to electoral roll before the polling. Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer office informed that the information can be sought in Hindi or in local or in English language. The elector has to go to message box, type ECI then space then EPIC NUMBER and then type 1 for Hindi or local language and 0 for English.
