Videocon d2h plans to turn PAT positive

Videocon d2h, the Nasdaq-listed Indian direct-to-home (DTH) company, is eyeing to turn positive on the net level in the first quarter of the next fiscal, a senior source in the company informed. The youngest DTH operator among the lot, Videocon d2h will be the second player, after Dish TV, to be PAT positive, if it manages to remain on target.

“The company has added 1.7 million net sub scribers in FY16 and the net base is at 12 million. Phase III of digitisation has been extremely good. Moreover, the price hike we implemented across the packs, is going to increase the ARPU (average revenue per user). Overall, we are on track to report a positive PAT in Q1FY17,” the source added.

For the 9-month period ended December 31, 2015, the company had posted a net `71crore on a revenue loss of Rs 2,084.4 crore. EBITDA for the said period was at Rs 582.2 crore.
