Trai backs Open & Free Internet

After a long wait, Trai has finally come out with its recommendations on net-neutrality where it has backed the basic principles of an open and free internet. The guidelines quantified that no internet access service provider shall resort to any form of discrimination, restriction or interference in the treatment of content, including practices like blocking, degrading, slowing down or granting preferential speeds. Nobody owns the internet and therefore, it is everybody’s property. Therefore, it should be open and accessible to everybody.
