Telenor consumers

Telenor in partnership with Shriram Life Insurance and MicroEnsure launched its life insurance scheme which is free for all the active customers of the company. By spending on regular recharges with a small incremental value, Telenor consumers get the benefit of a Life Insurance cover, which will be a hundred times of the monthly recharge value, subject to a maximum of Rs 50,000.

Telenor India has over 20 million subscribers who are covered under this free life insurance scheme. Telenor claims to be one of the largest micro-insurance provider in the country and perhaps the world too. They claim to have settled around 25 claims ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 50,000, that too within the promised seven day deadline.
