Tech Mahindra and University of Sydney in deal to co-create next-gen solutions

The University of Sydney and Tech Mahindra have struck a deal to co-create solutions using next-gen technologies to tackle issues being faced by the industry, community and government organisations.

The Australian varsity, along with Tech Mahindra’s Makers Lab, will provide students in Sydney with real-world experience through the newly developed Industry and Community Projects Units (ICPU). Tech Mahindra had last year made a strategic investment in Munich-based Makers Lab to drive digital transformation.

While Makers Lab acts as an R&D hub for co-innovation of solutions, ICPUs — introduced as part of a revamp of the undergraduate curriculum at the University of Sydney — enables interdisciplinary groups of students to work on projects across areas, including community development, law, technology, farming, sustainability, banking and health.
