Share market update: Telecom shares rise; Bharti Airtel jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Telecom index was up in Monday’s afternoon session with most of its components trading in the green.

Shares of Bharti Airtel (up 4.97 per cent), Vodafone Idea (up 4.63 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 4.26 per cent) and Bharti Infratel (up 3.84 per cent) were trading with gains.

Vindhya Telelinks (up 2.88 per cent), Aksh Optifibre (up 2.74 per cent), Himachal Futuristic Communications (up 2.38 per cent) and GTL (up 2.26 per cent) too were trading in the green.
