Share market update: BSE Telecom index rises; RCom surges 12%

NEW DELHI: The BSE Telecom index was trading with gains in Monday’s afternoon session with its components trading on a mixed note.

Shares of Reliance Communications (up 12.36 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 3.62 per cent), Vindhya Telelinks (up 2.50 per cent) and Sterlite Technologies (up 2.19 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Tejas Networks (down 10.25 per cent), OnMobile Global (down 7.45 per cent), GTL (down 4.89 per cent) and GTL Infrastructure (down 4.49 per cent) were trading with losses.

The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 1.15 per cent up at 975.04 around 02:33 pm.
