Reliance Jio to foray into enterprise services, commercial launch expected soon: Report

After disrupting the telecom market in the consumer segment, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio is now looking to enter the enterprise services segment where last week it had begun with the soft launch of the services, as reported by Hindu Business Line.

As part of the unified communications services, Jio will provide Multiprotocol Label Switching networks, Internet Protocol-Virtual Private Networks, cloud services and managed video-conferencing among others. The company is expected to soon roll out its services commercially.

“RJio is in the final phases of testing its enterprise offering, which is the definite logical step in its growth path. With most of the infrastructure, including optical fibre cables (OFC), towers and data centres, in place, it’s only a matter of time before the services go live,” a source close to the development told Business Line.

The report added that the company will be using its 1 lakh telecom towers and over 2 lakh route km of fibre to serve its corporate clients. As Jio also recently acquired Reliance Communications’ assets, the report said that the telco will be using these to provide enterprise services.

Currently existing players including Airtel, Tata Communications, BSNL and Vodafone have their own range of enterprise services including cloud and hosting services, IP-VPN, MPLS etc. Now Reliance Jio is set to foray into this segment and might concentrate the market for the existing players.
