Microsoft working on Apple Airpods rival: Report

Tech giant Microsoft is reportedly developing the Apple AirPods rival, allegedly called the Surface Buds. As per a report by Thurrot.com, the buds are codenamed Morrison which is likely related to Jim Morrison, the lead singer of rock band The Doors. The earbuds are said to come with Cortana integration and may include noise cancellation feature as well.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the company is venturing into the earbud segment. The firm previously sold earbuds with its Zune music players. To recall, Microsoft in October last year unveiled its over-ear Surface Headphones with 40mm drivers. The latest report also suggests that Microsoft is looking to expand its audio products range in two major categories of headphones — in-ear and over-ear.
The report, however, does not mention any specifications of the upcoming Surface Buds, But it states that we may expect Cortana integration, noise cancellation, and improved interactions between phone and the earbuds.
