Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is pushing various government agencies and BSNL for efficient usage of satellites already deployed by them and which are planned for near future. ISRO developed indigenous satellite handheld terminals have been tested by various organizations in the defence ministry. It has also asked DoT to take proactive steps by applying with the ITU for their permissions to use frequencies between satellite and ground equipment. It has held several meetings with the users trying to convince them to shift their operations to the Indian satellites.
