Madras HC issues notices to 5 NetCos

Hearing a Public Interest Litigation, a two judge bench of justices S Manikumar and Subramonium Prasad of Madras High Court on August 28, 2018 issued notices on Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Twitter, Google to explain why they should not be made parties for non-compliance of Information Technology Act, 2000 and Rule 3 of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011, according to which, an intermediary shall observe due diligence in the discharge of his duties.
