Today, after the launch of 4G services by Reliance Jio, telecom operators are giving internet at very affordable rates. This has changed the dynamics of the digital streaming market in India. With the smartphone penetration in India expected to grow to 520 mn by 2020, broadband penetration will also increase from 14 pc to 40 pc by 2020. The rapid up-take of connected devices and broadband connectivity will be instrumental in media consumption shifting beyond traditional media formats such as broadcast and cable TV towards digital mediums.
