Flipkart opens its second datacentre in India in Hyd

Hyderabad: Stepping up its presence in Telangana, e-commerce behemoth Flipkart on Monday inaugurated it first green datacentre in Hyderabad. This is Flipkart’s second datacenter in the country and the first in Telangana. While the company did not disclose the investment, industry sources pegged it at over Rs 200 crore.
According to the company, it is a tier-4 datacentre and one of the most energy efficient ones in the country with a low PUE (power usage effectiveness). It has been built in partnership with city-based datacentre player CtrlS.
The company said its new datacentre is part of one of the largest private cloud deployments in the country and will help strengthen its growing marketplace e-commerce business in India. It will enhance the company’s ability to bring in more sellers and MSMEs to the platform and cater to more consumers, it said.
