After due consideration of various issues shaping India’s retail and e-commerce sector, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) on March 29, 2016 issued Press Note 3 of 2016 (PN3), which was subsequently included in the Consolidated FDI Policy of India in August 2017.
