CoE for IoT

Centre of Excellence for Internet of Things (IoT) was one of the key initiatives launched under the ambitious “Digital India” program. CoE – IoT was conceptualised to undertake capacity development (Human & Technology) for IoT specific skill-sets for domestic and international markets, to undertake Research & development for all the assisting technologies and develop IoT products specific to Indian needs in the domains of agriculture, health, water quality, natural disasters, transportation, security, automobile, supply chain management, smart cities, automated metering and monitoring of utilities, waste management, Oil & Gas, etc. The idea is to create an IoT industry in India of $15 bn by 2020 which will also lead to increase in the connected devices from around 200 mn to over 2.7 bn by 2020.
