COAI collaborates with WTCIS to establish ‘ESDM Center of Excellence’ in WTC Noida

Telecom industry body COAI has collaborated with World Trade Center India Services Council (WTCIS) to establish an ESDM Center of Excellence at the WTC-1A, World Trade Centre Noida.

The proposed Centre of Excellence will work towards the development of human capital in India, and will aim to strengthen the innovation ecosystem pertaining to mobile, telecom, electronics and allied network industries.

“We are excited to partner with the World Trade Center India Services Council, an international ecosystem of global business connectivity, iconic properties, and integrated trade services spread across several cities and countries. Our combined expertise in telecom, mobile and ESDM industries will go a long way in helping the industry, state and the country at large,” said Rajan S Mathews, Director General, COAI.

ESDM aims to be a $400 billion industry by 2025 with targeted production of 1 billion mobile handsets by 2025, valued at $190 billion (approximately INR 13 lakh crore), including 600 million mobile handsets valued at $110 billion (approximately INR 7 lakh crore), for export.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh initiated the MOX-Mobile Open Exchange Cluster, with WTC Noida as a business enabling hub as part of which the government signed MOU with WTC Noida to develop techzone as nucleus of MOX to enable growth in mobile and allied sectors in U.P.
