BharatNet: 8 states for state led model

Eight states – Jharkhand, Gujarat, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha and Telangana – have chosen state led model for the implementation of BharatNet project which shall also receive funding from the centre from the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USO). However, three states – Chattisgarh, Maharashtra and Telangana – wanted higher budgetary support to implement the fiber cable laying in the ring-topology using IP MPLS technology in the DPR submitted by them.
