Bharat Bandh

On September 28, 2018, Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) called a Bharat Trade Bandh against Walmart Flipkart deal & government’s proposal to allow FDI in inventory-based e-commerce. CAIT held a massive dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi which was attended by thousands of traders across country. Their banner read: “Hum Bhi Voter Hain – Hamare Vyapar Ki Suraksha Kaun Karega”. Traders gave a loud message to the government that ignoring them may prove to be costly as beside traders, they are voters too having employees and other affiliates, and their combined strength is about 30 crore in the country.
