‘4% Indian users hit by banking Trojans in 2018’

Four per cent Indian users were attacked by banking Trojans in 2018, a new report by cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab said on Monday.

As many as 889,452 users of Kaspersky Lab solutions were attacked by banking Trojans in 2018, marking an increase of 15.9 per cent over 2017 when 767,000 users were hit.

Users in Russia, Germany, Vietnam, Italy, the US and China were the ones most attacked by banking malware such as Zbot, Gozi and SpyEye.

Zbot and Gozi are the kings when it comes to the most widespread banking malware (with over 26 per cent and 20 per cent of users attacked), followed by SpyEye (with 15.6 per cent victims) and the others.
